You are purchasing one new USA Made wiring harness kit for 1938 Harley-Davidson big twin flathead U models.  This is our "premium" kit.  It has correct stripped and tinned wire  terminals which are correctly twisted and sweated for all terminals except the under dash terminals, where H-D used ring terminals originally.  This also utilizes an NOS oil pressure switch cup terminal which was unique to HD (Photo 6).  

Our wire kits are made by hand with care, one at a time, in our shop located in beautiful Cimarron, New Mexico, USA.

If you need a kit for a 1938 Knucklehead or WL we have those available on other listings.

The harness is encased in asphalt loom material, wires are single traced or non-traced as original.  Wire colors are accurate as are the wire terminal ends.  Handlebar dimmer and horn wires have ends already tinned, you will fish the wires through the bar from the bottom.  You will find it easier without your timer cable installed.  You will have to solder the bar wires into your dimmer and horn switches.  Other than the fender lamp contact button terminal, this will require no more soldering.  We do happen to sell complete wire clip kits for OHV and side valve models in our store.

The kit does come with wires for models equipped with stop lamp switches.

This harness is for the discerning restorer, please look at the photos carefully.  Harnesses with predominantly stripped, coiled, and tinned terminals are correct from 1936-1938.  The harness can be used on 1939-1946 models, but would not be "detail-correct" as flag terminals were used from 1939 onward.
