You are purchasing one pair of European-made reproduction OD green hard plastic waffle-type handlebar grips. These are very high quality reproductions with the Harley-Davidson Made In USA stamping on them. These are a spot-on copy of the War Production Board grips issued during the rubber shortages of WWIi and would have been used on civilian models from 1942 to early 1947.
Specifically, OD green was used on military models. I believe they were used primarily on WLC and later XA models. They may have been used on late WLA models
Some people think these were used only through the 1946 model year, however, 1947 factory prototype photos as well as photos of delivered bikes at dealers and police departments show these grips being used at least on early 1947 models. I do believe these were offered as a parts counter replacement as well as in accessory catalogs for several years after WW-II and the 1948 parts catalog lists them as being available for 1948 models.
These are for the shorter springer handlebar spirals used on all Harley-Davidson models from 1935-1948.

Note: These grips are molded with a slight taper toward the outer bar end to hold them in place. Slip these on carefully, if they need a bit of coaxing to get on the last 1/2", hold a wooden block at the grip end and very carefully tap the remainder of the grip in place. We will not replace these due to installation damage.
