You are purchasing one USA-made parkerized exhaust hardware kit which will fit 1932 to 1952 45" solo models including RL, WL, WLA, WLC, and WLD. and Machining and parkerizing detail is restoration correct on all the hardware right down to the machined flat lands on the nuts and the machined tops and CP-1038 stamping on the 1/2" hex bolt heads. As the 5/16" hex head bolts are all CP-1038 cold head stamped bolts with this kit, this would be considered "correct" for 1948 to 1952 as Harley handed over a good deal of bolt production to Chandler Products in early WWII and was still buying bolts from them into the late 1960's or early 1970's.
For WLA and WLC models, CP-1035 is generally considered to be "correct" for the hex bolts from 1943 to 1947. CP-1038 seems to take over by 1948. We now offer a CP-1035 kit for WW-II era models from late 1943-1947 and plain head for 1932-early 1942 models.
As far as whether an AMCA judge believes you should have all CP-1038 hex bolts on the exhaust for a 1948-1952 WL cannot address that. The 9/16" head on the 074 bolt is plain head and I have no idea if H-D ever actually turned that bolt over to Chandler back in the day.
A note on "reproduction" or "repop" CP bolts: There is either early OEM-era production or later production CP series bolts. Chandler Products has always been willing to manufacture their cold head CP-1035 and CP-1038 bolts if you were willing to buy a large enough lot of each size. There may well have been European counterfeits at some point, these are not. We handle literally thousands of these bolts a year, there are different appearing head stamps as dies wear out so we cannot guarantee your stamping configuration will be identical to the heads shown in the photos.
