You are purchasing a four speed transmission deluxe mounting kit with mount plate and adjusting strap used on 1936 to 1957 big twin Knucklehead, Flathead, & Panhead Harleys.
Due to the uniqueness of the 1936 transmission's four bolt mounting (instead of 5) this may or may not need some modification to use it on a 1936 model. Please check your own reference material to be certain.
Plate and hardware can be used without the adjuster bolt and strap from 1965 to 1984 on four speed big twins, including early FX models. To my knowledge, a few of the common bolts were shifted over to Chandler Products and would have carried the CP-1035 and/or CP-1038 hallmark on the bolt head during and after WWII. These are a mix of plain head, and CP-1038 and CP-1035 bolts. However, it’s not real easy to see the bolt heads when they are mounted, so it’s probably a moot point on the bolt head markings on later bikes unless you are going for a Winner’s Circle restoration where you might find a judge who is a real stickler for every last detail and who might look for that minor of a flaw.
I also offer the hardware, plate, and strap in a deluxe kit for 1936 to 1957 rigid big twins and do have only the mounting hardware, the strap, or hardware and strap options under “transmissions” in my store.
The Parkerizing is perfect on these. Buy with confidence, we are antique Harley enthusiasts, not a 100,000 item catalog emporium for various brands of motorcycles and car parts that we have no clue how they are used on your bike.
Used on the following:
- 1936-1947 E, EL, ELA, ELC, ELS, F, FL 61" & 74" OHV Knucklehead
- 1937-1948 U, UL, ULH, etc. 74' & 80" big twin flathead
- 1949 to 1957 OHV Panhead Hydra-Glide EL, FL & FLH 61" & 74"
A note on shipping:
Please understand sellers on eBay do not set the shipping rates. Please also understand that sellers are charged a final value fee on the amount of shipping you are charged over and above the fees they pay on the sale and the Paypal transaction. In addition to that, sellers have the expense of labels, shipping materials, padded mailers, etc. I do charge a handling fee on some items, but I also offer several shipping options whenever possible to give you more affordable shipping choices. If you ever think the shipping fee charged is too high, please let me know before leaving a low rating on shipping charges. It’s rare that I receive such feedback, but I work hard to keep my customers happy. I’d rather know if someone is unhappy before they leave a low rating. That’s the only way I can solve a problem. I don’t ever want a customer to go away unhappy!
