You are purchasing one USA made pull wire stud and brake lock kit as used on all 1950 to 1957 model Harley-Davidson 45 and Panhead models.  It is used as a rear brake shaft lock on W and WL models and is used on the front rear brake rod on big twin Panhead to secure the brake switch pull wire and help actuate it when the rear brake pedal is depressed.

This is detail-correct for 1950-1957 as this is the later stamped version of the pull stud and it comes with a dimpled pot metal or zinc wing nut as original from 1950 forward.  

We also sell a 1940-1949 kit with a parkerized wing nut and we also sell a machined version for 1937-1940 and an earlier stamped version for 1934-1937.

It can certainly be used on earlier rigid frame big twins and 45” models, but it would be considered “detail correct” for 1950 to early 1957 only.  

You get the following:
  • 42280-35 (early# 2958-35) Pull wire stud & Brake lock which includes the body, stud, and wing nut.  Body and stud are parkerized, wing nut is a natural zinc or pot metal finish.
Used on the following:
  • 1950-1957 Panhead  EL, FL, FLH  61” & 74"  OHV
  • 1950-1952 W, WL, WLD, WLA 45" Solo
  • 1950 G 45" Servicar
Please study the photos, the plating is excellent on these as well as the attention to detail and craftsmanship.  This is a very well engineered kit.
