- Two ea. Chandler Products CP-1038 cold head bolts, Harley OEM# 3738, 1/4”-28 x 1/2"
Cad plated. Used to mount the shift gate or guide on all 1947 to 1965 big twin, 1947-1952 WL, and 1947 to 1973 Servicar. To me it would make common sense to mount these with split lockwashers, but none of the catalogs I have show that this was the proper assembly procedure. If you'd like a couple of cad plated 1/4" lock washers just let me know, I will put them in your package for free.
Please shop our store as we have literally hundreds of hardware items for your vintage 1915-1984 H-D motorcycle and hundreds more we've not yet listed.
- 1947-1952 W, WL, WLA 45" solo
- 1947 61" & 74" OHV EL & FL Knucklehead
- 1947-1948 U, UL, ULH 74" & 80" big twin flathead or sidevalve
- 1948-1965 EL, FL, FLH 61" & 74" OHV Panhead
- 1947-1973 G, GE Servicar
These were used various places such as fastening the police oil tank to the oil tank and battery plate for 1958-1964 police models as well as on the saddlebag rails used from 1968 to 1976 on the rear tie bars though the later books call this a 5/8" long bolt. The CP-1038 marking would make them “correct” for roughly 1949 to the mid to late 1960’s. Be sure to check your own reference material.
There seems to be some misinformation on CP bolts and "reproductions". Chandler Products has always been willing to produce these bolts with large minimum quantity orders. There's either early production or current production. They changed head dies as they wore out and had multiple dies. All nuts are USA made using the same process Harley used when they operated their own screw and nut equipment with the flat lands on them. Spacers and washers are produced just like the ones H-D did back in the day. Parkerizing is same finish as how these came from the factory in the 1950's. I've also got other hardware kits listed in my store under "pre 1980's hardware" including all sorts of pre-sorted kits containing CP-1035 and CP-1038 bolts and other unique vintage H-D fasteners to meet your restoration needs.
Please understand sellers on eBay do not set the shipping rates. Please also understand that sellers are charged a final value fee on the amount of shipping you are charged over and above the fees they pay on the sale and the Paypal transaction. In addition to that, sellers have the expense of labels, shipping materials, padded mailers, etc. I do charge a handling fee on some items, but I also offer several shipping options whenever possible to give you more affordable shipping choices. If you ever think the shipping fee charged is too high, please let me know before leaving a low rating on shipping charges. It’s rare that I receive such feedback, but I work hard to keep my customers happy. I’d rather know if someone is unhappy before they leave a low rating. That’s the only way I can solve a problem. I don’t ever want a customer to go away unhappy!
Know who you are buying from! We are not a drop-ship operation, each and every part we sell is carefully inspected to assure you get the quality part described in the listing. We have a no-hassle return policy, and we stand behind the parts we sell because we know what we are selling and shipping to our customers. Before you make a purchasing decision compare our feedback vs. others.
We are aware eBay’s shipping calculator is not working correctly on combining shipping for some of our listings. If the shipping amount eBay is trying to charge you seems high, please contact us immediately or simply click “request total from seller” and we will promptly manually calculate your shipping. We always combine shipping on multiple item orders and will find the least expensive method which falls in line with how quickly you need your items. Thank you!
