You are purchasing on pair of USA Made rear axle or rear chain adjusters which replace Harley-Davidson OEM# 2827-36 on 1942 to 1947 Knucklehead and UL models. My research shows parkerized adjusters were used during WWII production, cad plated adjusters may well have been available for production in to 1942, but for certain factory photos I’ve seen of 1943-1947 big twins all had parkerized adjusters. They may well have resumed cad plating at some point in 1947 but I don’t have any factory photos of a late year ’47 to confirm. The 1948 prototypes had cad plated adjusters again. Thread pitch is 3/8”-24 and these include two #0129 3/8’-24 x 1/4” x 9/16” hex nuts. Overall length is 3 3/8” tip to rear of threaded surface is 3”, these are turned from 7/16” hex stock exactly like the originals. Of course, these will fit any big twin Harley from 1936 to 1972, but the parkerized finish makes them “correct” for roughly 1942-1947.
Detail correct for:
- 1942-1947 61” & 74” OHV Knucklehead EL, ELA, ELC, FL
- 1942-1947 74” & 80” sidevalve or flathead U, UL, UH, ULH, ULA, UA,
You get the following:
- Two ea. Parkerized machine cut plain head adjusters, Harley OEM# 2827-36;
- Two ea. 3/8”-24 x 1/4” x 9/16” hex nut, Harley OEM# 0129;
These are machined exactly the way H-D made them in their own screw shop during WW-II.
We also offer plain head, CP-1035, and CP-1038 bolts, correctly machined nuts, screws, wire clips, wiring harnesses, frame clamps, etc. in our eBay store. Our selection of hard to find detail items keeps expanding on a weekly basis. If you do not see what you need, just email us and let us know, we likely have just not had time to list it yet.
There seems to be some misinformation on CP bolts and "reproductions". Chandler Products has always been willing to produce these bolts with large minimum quantity orders. There's either early production or current production. They changed head dies as they wore out and had multiple dies. All nuts are USA made using the same process Harley used when they operated their own screw and nut equipment with the flat lands on them. Spacers and washers are produced just like the ones H-D did back in the day. Parkerizing is same finish as how these came from the factory in the 1950's. I've also got other hardware kits listed in my store under "pre 1980's hardware" including all sorts of pre-sorted kits containing CP-1035 and CP-1038 bolts and other unique vintage H-D fasteners to meet your restoration needs.
Please understand sellers on eBay do not set the shipping rates. Please also understand that sellers are charged a final value fee on the amount of shipping you are charged over and above the fees they pay on the sale and the Paypal transaction. In addition to that, sellers have the expense of labels, shipping materials, padded mailers, etc. I do charge a handling fee on some items, but I also offer several shipping options whenever possible to give you more affordable shipping choices. If you ever think the shipping fee charged is too high, please let me know before leaving a low rating on shipping charges. It’s rare that I receive such feedback, but I work hard to keep my customers happy. I’d rather know if someone is unhappy before they leave a low rating. That’s the only way I can solve a problem. I don’t ever want a customer to go away unhappy!
