You are purchasing a USA-made fork panel mount kit for 1952 to 1970 K-Model and Sportster XLH models.  Also used on Hydra-Glide and Duo-Glide from 1949 to 1959; 1958 and 1959 Servicar models.  Used with the stamped stainless style fork panels from 1952 to 1958 as well as the cast one for 1959-1970 on the XLH.  Starting in 1964 they used two of the side panel screws to fasten the fork cover piece for XLCH models, but to my knowledge they only used two per bike.  Includes all hardware shown.  Catalog page is just to show proper placement of the hardware, it does not come with this kit.

Sportster parts catalogs erroneously referred to this as a 5/16"-18 x 3/8" screw, why that error was carried for nearly 20 years in the parts catalogs is beyond me.  To further prove this was not the case, if you look at the fasteners used to put spotlamp mounts on the Sportsters those bolts were 5/16"-24.  Panhead catalogs always referenced this screw as 5/16"-24.

Two 2823 screws are also used on tool boxes from 1952-1966 and we do sell a K-Model and Sportster tool box kit for that on another listing.

Includes the following:
  • Four ea. OEM# 2823 Phillips screws with star lock washers 5/16"-24 x 3/8" (Sportster catalogs called this part number a 5/16"-18 screw which was incorrect, these were always 5/16"-24 and H-D did not do different pitch screws under the same part number)
  • Two ea. OEM# 2758 Phillips screws 1/4"-20 x 1/2" Includes two star lock washers which do not appear in the catalog with these so you can use them or not.
Used on the following:
  • 1949-1959 61" & 74" OHV Panhead Hydra-Glide & Duo-Glide
  • 1958-1959 45" Servicar with Glide front end
  • 1952-1956 K, KK, KH, KHK 45" & 55" flathead sport twin
  • 1957-1970 Sportster 900cc OHV sport twin XL & XLH
  • 1964-1970 Sportster XLCH though I believe only two screws were used for CH models
There seems to be some misinformation on CP bolts and "reproductions".  Chandler Products has always been willing to produce these bolts with large minimum quantity orders. There's either early production or current production. They changed head dies as they wore out and had multiple dies.  All nuts are USA made using the same process Harley used when they operated their own screw and nut equipment with the flat lands on them.  Spacers and washers are produced just like the ones H-D did back in the day.  Parkerizing is same finish as how these came from the factory in the 1950's.  I've also got other hardware kits listed in my store under "pre 1980's hardware" including all sorts of pre-sorted kits containing CP-1035 and CP-1038 bolts and other unique vintage H-D fasteners to meet your restoration needs.

A note on shipping:

Please understand sellers on eBay do not set the shipping rates.  Please also understand that sellers are charged a final value fee on the amount of shipping you are charged over and above the fees they pay on the sale and the Paypal transaction.  In addition to that, sellers have the expense of labels, shipping materials, padded mailers, etc.  I do charge a handling fee on some items, but I also offer several shipping options whenever possible to give you more affordable shipping choices.  If you ever think the shipping fee charged is too high, please let me know before leaving a low rating on shipping charges.  It’s rare that I receive such feedback, but I work hard to keep my customers happy.  I’d rather know if someone is unhappy before they leave a low rating.  That’s the only way I can solve a problem.  I don’t ever want a customer to go away unhappy!

Know who you are buying from! We are not a drop-ship operation, each and every part we sell is carefully inspected to assure you get the quality part described in the listing.  We have a no-hassle return policy, and we stand behind the parts we sell because we know what we are selling and shipping to our customers.  Before you make a purchasing decision compare our feedback vs. others.
We are aware eBay’s shipping calculator is not working correctly on combining shipping for some of our listings.  If the shipping amount eBay is trying to charge you seems high, please contact us immediately or simply click “request total from seller” and we will promptly manually calculate your shipping.  We always combine shipping on multiple item orders and will find the least expensive method which falls in line with how quickly you need your items.  Thank you!
