You are purchasing one reproduction pull type handlebar spiral for throttle control on 1948 to at least 1957 model stock production Harley-Davidson USA made single cylinder "light weight" motorcycles. I'm not sure how late these spirals were used, I do know at least 1957, please check your own reference material. These are used only with bars which are slotted all the way to the end for the cable plunger and also requires a grip sleeve retainer which we do sell in our store. We may put a kit together in the future with the sleeve, retainer, and plunger. Please study the catalog photo included on this ad and make sure that looks like your set up.
Please do double check your own reference material to make certain this is the spiral you need, the detail is very good on these. These are also what are called the "left hand spirals" they are for a pull style throttles on big twins 45's and Sportsters with this style bar when using a Mikuni, Bendix, SU, S & S, Tillotsen, or any carburetors requiring a pull throttle and can be used for the spark advance as well. These would also be used on earlier Panhead models using a CV, SU, Mikuni or any other type carburetor requiring a pull type action to open the throttle rather than a push as the earlier Linkert and Schebler style carburetors with piano style wires did.
