You are purchasing one new European reproduction Cycle-Ray headlamp lens which is "detail-correct" for WW-II era and later models, roughly 1942-1951. The conversation on what is "correct" for these is a constantly-evolving topic, Bruce Palmer's 2nd Edition of the "How To Restore Your Harley" guide goes into detail on these on pages 565-566. Others are selling these lenses as NOS OEM on eBay or simply playing coy and not identifying if it is OEM or reproduction.
You could even buy these with a re-printed Harley box, like the one shown, at one point which further confuses buyers. Ask the seller if theirs has "I.G.C." molded anywhere on the back, if it does not, it's not an original. These are a perfect fit replacement on original lamps and most of the current reproductions and can be used to dress up our own reproduction Cycle-Ray offerings.
The box shown is one of the reproduction boxes other sellers have been using to pass off reproductions for originals. You WILL NOT get one of these boxes with your lens, this was the only one we had, the rest are in plain boxes. If you are looking for an authentic original, it should have "I.G.C." molded on the inside of the lens. Also, most of the reproductions I have seen with top mold numbers are #23 or #30.
Lens Detail:
Lens has TOP at the top with the mold number 23 at the top which is generally considered correct for WW-II era war years.
and the lower lens says:
CYCLERAY
HEADLAMP
GUIDE
Lower arc on lens reads:
PAT'D MADE IN U.S.A. PAT'S PEND.
On the back side: the Guide part number of 918831. It does NOT have any IGC stamping on it which is usually your best tip this is NOT NOS.
We do sell complete headlamps and mounting kits for 1936-1957 twin models (not including VL) as well as correct lenses with mold numbers at the top for the war period and up, 6V & 12V bulbs and 1952-up style block print Cycle-Ray headlamps. We also stock springer style "Guide" marked spot lamps and tail lamp parts. We keep adding new parts weekly please keep checking here or cimarroncycleworks, if you don't see what you need, just ask.
These are really nice reproductions. Keep in mind there are probably little detail items a judge may pick apart if you are having your bike AMCA judged.

PLEASE NOTE: When it's practical, I will gladly combine all your purchases into one shipment for a discounted rate.
Please understand sellers on eBay do not set the shipping rates. Please also understand that sellers are charged a final value fee on the amount of shipping you are charged over and above the fees they pay on the sale and the Paypal transaction. In addition to that, sellers have the expense of labels, shipping materials, padded mailers, etc. I do charge a handling fee on some items, but I also offer several shipping options whenever possible to give you more affordable shipping choices. If you ever think the shipping fee charged is too high, please let me know before leaving a low rating on shipping charges. It’s rare that I receive such feedback, but I work hard to keep my customers happy. I’d rather know if someone is unhappy before they leave a low rating. That’s the only way I can solve a problem. I don’t ever want a customer to go away unhappy!
