Harley CP-1038 Engine Mounting Motor Mount Kit Panhead 48-51 Restoration Correct

  • Availability: In Stock
  • $57.95

Complete “restoration correct" upper and lower engine mounting hardware kit for OHV engines used from 1948 to 1951 on rigid frame springer and Hydra-Glide big twins.  As the bolts are CP-1038, they would be "correct" from roughly 1948 to 1957, but will certainly work for any '36 to '57 big twin.  This kit includes the special motor mount nut, lock, and lock washer used under the generator land area from 1936 to 1957. The top motor mount bolt is machined exactly as Harley machined them on their own screw equipment leaving a small tit at the center of the bolt head. Flex-lock nut on top mount bolt and un-drilled bot are commonly associated with 1948 to 1951 models.

We also now stock motor mount kits with correct top motor mount bolt and markings for the following 1936-1969 OHV Big Twins:
  • 1936 EL 61” Knucklehead (Plain head lower mount bolts)
  • 1937-1947 EL & FL 61” & 74” Knucklehead (Plain head lower mount bolts)
  • 1952-1957 EL, FL, FLH 61” & 74” Panhead (CP-1038 lower mount bolts)
  • 1958-1969 FL, FLH 74” Panhead & Shovelhead (CP-1038 lower mount bolts)
Please see the "Vintage Hardware Pre-1980" section of my eBay store for different motor mount options as well as other plain head, CP-1038, and CP-1035 hardware kits and bolt sets. I also have motor mount kits for U, UL, ULH and 45 solo and Servicar.

There seems to be some misinformation on CP bolts and "reproductions".  Chandler Products has always been willing to produce these bolts with large minimum quantity orders. There's either early production or current production. They changed head dies as they wore out and had multiple dies. Top mount bolt and all nuts are USA made using the same process Harley used when they operated their own screw and nut equipment with the flat lands on them.  Spacers and washers are produced just like the ones H-D did back in the day.  Parkerizing is same finish as how these came from the factory in the 1950's.  I've also got other hardware kits listed in my store under "pre 1980's hardware" including a CP-1038 gas tank and oil tank mounting kit which would go great with this.

A note on shipping:

Please understand sellers on eBay do not set the shipping rates.  Please also understand that sellers are charged a final value fee on the amount of shipping you are charged over and above the fees they pay on the sale and the Paypal transaction.  In addition to that, sellers have the expense of labels, shipping materials, padded mailers, etc.  I do charge a handling fee on some items, but I also offer several shipping options whenever possible to give you more affordable shipping choices.  If you ever think the shipping fee charged is too high, please let me know before leaving a low rating on shipping charges.  It’s rare that I receive such feedback, but I work hard to keep my customers happy.  I’d rather know if someone is unhappy before they leave a low rating.  That’s the only way I can solve a problem.  I don’t ever want a customer to go away unhappy!

Know who you are buying from! We are not a drop-ship operation, each and every part we sell is carefully inspected to assure you get the quality part described in the listing.  We have a no-hassle return policy, and we stand behind the parts we sell because we know what we are selling and shipping to our customers.  Before you make a purchasing decision compare our feedback vs. others.
We are aware eBay’s shipping calculator is not working correctly on combining shipping for some of our listings.  If the shipping amount eBay is trying to charge you seems high, please contact us immediately or simply click “request total from seller” and we will promptly manually calculate your shipping.  We always combine shipping on multiple item orders and will find the least expensive method which falls in line with how quickly you need your items.  Thank you!
