You are purchasing a USA Made cad plated reproduction of the OEM #707 crankcase, transmission, and oil tank (XLH) drain plug used on 1952 and up K Model and Sportster. Comes with a brass crush washer which was a later innovation but you will help prevent leaks better if you use the washer. I believe this plug was used all the way into the early Evo era.
The newest Sportster parts catalog we have goes through 1981. This was still being used at this time, we have no idea how much later this was used. Also used as the oil tank drain plug on XL and XLH models. It is NOT used as the oil tank drain plug on XLCH models.
This has 1/2-13 threads
Fits the following:
- 1952-1956 K, KK, KH, KHK, etc. 45" & 55" flathead sport twin
- 1957-??? XL, XLCH, XLH Sportster. This shows to be used at least through 1981.
These are machined exactly the way H-D made them in their own screw shop back in the day. We are continually adding to our VL, RL, and JD parts offerings including hard to find hardware like this stud kit as well as bolts, screws, clips, and wiring products.
We also offer plain head, CP-1035, and CP-1038 bolts, correctly machined nuts, screws, wire clips, wiring harnesses, frame clamps, etc. in our eBay store. Our selection of hard to find detail items keeps expanding on a weekly basis. If you do not see what you need, just email us and let us know, we likely have just not had time to list it yet.
There seems to be some misinformation on CP bolts and "reproductions". Chandler Products has always been willing to produce these bolts with large minimum quantity orders. There's either early production or current production. They changed head dies as they wore out and had multiple dies. All nuts are USA made using the same process Harley used when they operated their own screw and nut equipment with the flat lands on them. Spacers and washers are produced just like the ones H-D did back in the day. Parkerizing is same finish as how these came from the factory in the 1950's. I've also got other hardware kits listed in my store under "pre 1980's hardware" including all sorts of pre-sorted kits containing CP-1035 and CP-1038 bolts and other unique vintage H-D fasteners to meet your restoration needs.
