You are purchasing one new reproduction tail lamp tag lamp or "white lens" for 1935-1954 Harley-Davidson twin and single models including VL, RL, Servicar, Knucklehead, UL, WL, and 125 S, 165 B and other models we are probably forgetting.  This is a non-fluted round or "shot glass" lens which we think was used from 1935 on all models to about 1949 or so on lightweight models then changing to a fluted diffuser to disperse light better.  We can't find much documentation to support when HD started using a fluted tail lamp lens for this tail lamp design. This has always been a hard piece to find.

What makes this specific for 1935 and later is that this is the "tall" version or type II which was made to work only with the new domed, conical, or beehive red glass tail lamp lens.  This will not work with the flat 5054-20 version of the tail lamp lens as this is near 1.75" deep and the earlier tag lens was about 1.5" deep.  

Very shortly, we will have a kit which has the flat red lens as well as the type I tag or clear lens that is 1.5" deep.  This will be a great resource for every restorer who has struggled to find quality restoration glass lenses.

This lens is glass, not plastic.
