You are purchasing one new old stock Harley-Davidson WLA or WLC black out ignition switch contact plate holder used on Briggs & Stratton type ignition switches used on Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, Hummer, UL, Servicar and WLA and WLC model motorcycles during WW II with keyed switches.  This is for all five and seven contact switches used from 1936 into the 1970's.  This is used on keyed switches only.  This will not work on the 4527-44 keyless military switches.  We have more switch parts available, if you don't see them here or cimarroncycleworks, just email and ask.

Excellent condition, these may be Dixie Distributing old stock.  We are not 100% positive on the origins as these came to us un-marked.

I do not know the federal registry numbers this type of switch was used with, but check your "How To Restore Your Military Harley-Davidson" book by Bruce Palmer III or go buy one and see if he mentions it there.   Later, and more common was the 4527-44 switch introduced in 1944 but had the part number stamped in the center of the switch.  Those were used thought the end of WW-II and possibly in to post-war WLA models.

  • 1936-1947 E, EL, ELS, F, FL, ELA, ELC 61" & 74' OHV Knucklehead
  • 1937-1948 U, UL, UH, ULH, ULA, UA, etc. 74" & 80" big twin flathead or side valve.
  • 1937-1952 W, WL, WLD 45" solo
  • 1937-1973 G, GE Servicar
  • 1948-1965 EL, FL, FLH 61" & 74" OHV Hydra-Glide, Duo-Glide, Electra-Glide Panhead
  • 1948-1966 125, 165, 175, S, ST, B, BT, Hummer, Scat, Pacer, Ranger, Super 10, etc. two stroke singles
  • 1966-???? FL, FLH, 74" Shovelhead Electra-Glide
  • 1971-1972 FX 74" Super-Glide
  • 1941-1943 constructed WLA or WLC models under the 1942 WLA or 1943 WLC contracts with the United States and Canada, will work on any military model has 7 contacts to separate day use and military black-out.
