You are purchasing one USA made pull wire stud and brake lock kit as used on all 1941 to 1957 model Harley-Davidson Knucklehead, UL, 45 and Panhead models.  It is used as a rear brake shaft lock on W and WL models and is used on the front rear brake rod on big twin Panhead to secure the brake switch pull wire and help actuate it when the rear brake pedal is depressed.  Typically, a cadmium wing nut would be correct for pre-war years and post war with parkerized being used durning WW-II, but I'm not 100% certain on this.

This is detail-correct for 1941-1949 as this is the later stamped version of the pull stud and it comes with a parkerized wing nut as original from 1941 to 1949 though parkerized wing nuts were used during this time as well (and we have this with a cad wing nut and with the late zinc cast wing nut on other listings.  This stamped type pull can be used on earlier models equipped with mechanical type brake switches but is correct from 1941 and up with the varying styles of wing nuts.

We also sell a machined version for 1937-1940 and an earlier stamped version for 1934-1937 models on other listings.
