You are purchasing one new USA Made timer or circuit breaker to coil wire for 1946-1947 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead E, EL, ES, U, UL, ULH, and WL, WL, WLD  models.  This kit includes a 25" plain black wire.   Top or coil terminal end has a correct 1614-18 brass open barrel terminal and the timer end has an open barrel tinned flag terminal properly tinned.  Based on our research, it appears H-D only did this configuration on the wire on 1946-47 non-radio-equipped models only though we have seen this style flag terminal in use sporadically as late as 1958 as well as on some K-Models.  The last photo above shows this type of wire end on the 1946 and 1947 Knuckleheads in the H-D museum in Milwaukee.  The condition of the wiring suggests the harness on those bikes to be original.  

This wire can be used on any single point H-D model from 1930-1960 but it is "detail-correct" for 1946-1947 models.  I do note that the terminals are very close tolerance fit through your timer head.  You may find it necessary to slightly enlarge the pass through hole on the bottom of the timer to accommodate the wire ends, the open barrel flag terminal is not as tight a fit as the copper fold over style.  The 1614-18 terminals are identical to the OEM ones and they are about 7/16" OD, the flag terminal is just under 3/8" wide. 

We also sell earlier and later versions of this wire with the correct 1614-18 terminal on the coil end with a flag terminal and 1936 only models where both ends were made from the primary wire ends.  We also have this configuration with the 1946 & 1947 open barrel flag terminal.  This assembly also comes with the "hat pin" clip to secure your asphalt loom to the timer.  It ships loose with the wire.

We can accurately replicate any assembly from any H-D harness for American made models from 1916-1969 and we offer complete kits for most every model as well.  We have stop and tail lamp wire kits for 1934-1938, 1939-1947, and 1948-1969 models in our store.  We also manufacture and stock correctly-detailed complete wiring kits for all DL, single, RL, and VL models.  We actually take the time and effort to make 100% correct kits for each model instead of telling you a VL kit will work on your RL, DL or single.

Your harness is made with care by hand at our shop in Cimarron, New Mexico USA.  We use all American and Australian-sourced components to build our kits.  We have spent a considerable amount to build a huge library of NOS and excellent used OEM exemplars of complete harnesses and sub assemblies to assure we are manufacturing a harness that reflects accurate details of the day your bike rolled off the assembly line.  We provide our customers with comprehensive and legible wiring diagrams (most all are colorized), wire schedules, as well as technical assistance should you ever have questions during or after your installation.  

Our wire dyes can vary slightly from one batch to the next, but that was the same as Harley back in the day.  We also have some wires we've allowed to age and bleach out a bit which is perfect for replacing wire components on an original paint bike.  Email us if you need something like that.

We take the guess work out of wiring kits and we have made many improvements over the "standard reproduction offerings" that have been around for a long time.
