You are purchasing one new USA Made wiring harness kit for 1939-1947 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead, UL:, and WL civilian models.  H-D used traced and non-traced wire from the 1920's into the mid-1940's.  If you believe your bike should have traced wires, we do sell that on another listing.  This kit includes a 56" plain black wire and 73" red wire and comes with one flag and one ring crimp type terminal.  The flag terminal is for the black tail lamp wire where it connects , the ring is for the red stop lamp wire where it connects to the brake switch.  The restoration-correct wire finish would have been soldered wire ends at the brake switch and under the seat post as noted below.

This kit requires you to fish the wires from the tail lamp through the rear fender and out the left side front opening.  Then you will secure your wire ends.  

If you are comfortable with soldering on your own button terminals for the tail lamp, we do make a kit with the proper copper ('39-'45) flag terminal on the black wire (open barrel flag on '46 & '47) and a proper tinned and looped red wire at the brake switch which you feed from the front of the fender to the tail lamp.  You then must be able to solder on the two button lamp contact terminals.  If you want one configured like that just ask.  We sell a kit just like this with traced wires on another listing.  For certain, H-D used traced wires on 1946 & 1947, it varied for 1939-1945 models.

We can accurately replicate any assembly from any H-D harness for American made models from 1916-1969 and we offer complete kits for most every model as well.  We have stop and tail lamp wire kits for 1934-1938 and 1948-1969 models in our store.

Your harness is made with care by hand at our shop in Cimarron, New Mexico USA.  We use all American and Australian-sourced components to build our kits.  We have spent a considerable amount to build a huge library of NOS and excellent used OEM exemplars of complete harnesses and sub assemblies to assure we are manufacturing a harness that reflects accurate details of the day your bike rolled off the assembly line.  We provide our customers with comprehensive and legible wiring diagrams (most all are colorized), wire schedules, as well as technical assistance should you ever have questions during or after your installation.  

Our wire dyes can vary slightly from one batch to the next, but that was the same as Harley back in the day.  We also have some wires we've allowed to age and bleach out a bit which is perfect for replacing wire components on an original paint bike.  Email us if you need something like that.

We take the guess work out of wiring kits and we have made many improvements over the "standard reproduction offerings" that have been around for a long time.
