We recently moved the contents of our own old warehouse and have made several huge purchases of NOS and used OEM parts for 45, big twin, XL, VL, and K-Models.
You are purchasing one NOS OEM front cylinder and piston kit for W, WL, WLA, and WLC models, this is WW-II military surplus and consists of one cylinder with standard bore and one standard piston kit with rings, pin, and retainer clips. This is for WL, WLA, and WLC models for use with aluminum heads. This cylinder is still perfectly preserved under a coat of cosmolene. I tried to make out the casting date code on the base but didn't want to wipe off all the cosmolene to reveal it. "120-36" is cast on one side of the cylinder lower boss, date code appears to be "18-5", I would assume 1945 manufacturing year but the 18 is throwing me off.
There are no broken fins, no stripped holes, manifold nipple is in place, valve guides are installed. The photos are of the actual cylinder and piston assembly you are purchasing.
The best part of using NOS OEM engine parts is you know they will fit and work as intended. The reproduction cylinders out there are very good, but there can be fitment issues. You never have to question the metallurgy of an NOS OEM H-D cylinder or piston. They worked and lasted forever if you took care of them.
I believe you may use this with cast iron heads, but the parts book lists 2-36A as being the correct cylinder for use with cast aluminum heads. Please check your own reference material if you plan to use this with anything other than what I've listed this compatibility-wise.
